Discovery has had a fair amount of media attention around its changes to the Vitality Rewards programme since 2020. The biggest fuss came about when Discovery Health members also needed to have a Discovery bank account, to avoid fees and claim certain benefits. Changes to the platform for 2023 include the ability for members to take a Rest Week after following a 25‑week goal achievement streak. This allows them to rest without breaking their goal streak. The upgrades are live on the Bank app and Discovery says non-banking clients can activate a zero-monthly-fee Discovery Account, to “enjoy their upgraded Vitality Active Rewards”.
