Telkom informed its shareholders that it was beginning a retrenchment negotiation process that is expected to impact up to 15% of total employees across the Group. Telkom said the S189A process will impact all business units and subsidiaries and “…is intended to ensure the sustainability of the Group”. The overriding explanation centred around the revenue required to move from old to new technologies and the costs associated with that and evolving requirements.
