Capitec has teamed up with MultiChoice to provide its clients with a flexible DStv streaming option through the Capitec app. Customers can choose specific shows rather than subscribing to full packages, allowing for reduced costs and greater control over viewing preferences. Capitec CEO Gerrie Fourie highlighted the flexibility and cost-efficiency of the new product, which caters to South Africans’ growing preference for on-demand streaming services. The partnership follows a similar collaboration with Showmax in August 2024, where discounted streaming vouchers were launched on the Capitec app. Capitec CEO Gerrie Fourie stated that the demand for on-demand streaming options in South Africa is largely driven by increased smartphone usage and high-speed internet availability.
