Telkom’s investments in SMEs and development programmes during the 2024 financial year has reportedly resulted in local businesses generating R399 million in revenue and creating 69 500 new jobs. This marks a substantial increase from the R191 million generated in the 2023 financial year, with the number of SMEs participating in Telkom’s FutureMakers programme expanding from 320 to 428 in 2024. Telkom head of business development Tshepo Phetla said its investments via the programme have led to significant positive social and commercial outcomes, with over 2 500 previously-disadvantaged SMEs trained since its inception.
