Fintech startup Happy Pay won the People’s Choice award at the South African Startup Awards hosted by Startup Club ZA. The company has reported rapid growth since its launch in 2023, reporting a 900% increase in users over the past year. Happy Pay attributes its success to Millennials and Gen Zs preferring its buy now, pay later offerings over traditional credit cards.
