The Youth Employment Service (YES) has launched a new campaign targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering the first 100 SMEs to apply for a chance to join the YES programme without registration or monitoring fees. YES usually charges fees ranging from R100 to R2 500 for registration and R1 600 to R3 000 for monitoring. By waiving these costs, the campaign aims to remove barriers for SMEs and help expose young people to employment and entrepreneurship. Qualifying SMEs only need to cover youth salaries while benefiting from enhanced B-BBEE levels.
