Netstar has partnered with Vodacom Business to launch WiTaxi, a free in-taxi connectivity service in South Africa by making use of telematics devices installed in Toyota minibus taxis as Wi-Fi routers. Commuters can access the Wi-Fi by watching short advertisements, providing a platform for SMEs to connect with millions of people. The service is accessed through the WiTaxi app, ensuring a safe and seamless experience. Vodacom also plans to introduce a reward system through its super app, VodaPay, allowing commuters to access content and engage in cashless transactions while earning rewards. This initiative aims to enhance convenience, connectivity and safety for commuters, drivers and fleet owners.
