TymeBank is aiming to achieve unicorn status by raising US$125 million in its fourth capital raise, which would push its valuation above US$1 billion. TymeBank Chief Executive Coen Jonker confirmed another capital raise is expected in 2026, with plans to list on both the New York Stock Exchange and the JSE in 2028. The bank, which garnered US$77.8 million from international investors Norrsken22 and BlueEarth Capital in its third capital raise, has seen significant interest from international markets compared to local markets. Jonker added that TymeBank’s expansion model includes partnerships with retailers, as seen in its joint venture in the Philippines with JG Summit Holdings, which achieved 2.3 million customers in 14 months. The bank plans to enter Vietnam next, followed by Indonesia, aiming to be in four markets by the time it lists. Domestically, TymeBank strives to be among the top three banks in South Africa in terms of ROI, customer satisfaction and growth. Currently, TymBank has 9.4 million customers and adds 150 000 to 200 000 new customers each month.
