Sanlam’s acquisition of a major stake in AfroCentric has received unconditional approval from the Competition Tribunal. The deal will grant Sanlam sole control over AfroCentric, allowing Sanlam Ltd and Sanlam Life Insurance to expand their offerings in the affordable and reliable medical aid sector. AfroCentric’s product portfolio will be integrated into Sanlam’s ecosystem, offering holistic medical scheme cover and health insurance. AfroCentric will benefit from increased access to Sanlam’s distribution network, while Sanlam’s client base will gain access to AfroCentric’s healthcare products. The collaboration aims to develop bespoke healthcare solutions, enhance commercial visibility, and create simpler solutions for employers.
