Sanlam reported positive results with a 19% increase in financial services and net cash results. Operational earnings rose by 35%, and new business volumes increased by 13% for the nine months to September. The life insurance segment saw an 8% increase in new business volumes on a present value of new business premiums (PVNBP) basis. The value of new life insurance business (VNB) increased by 28%, with an improved VNB margin. Despite challenges in the retail mass segment, persistency remained stable in the retail affluent business. General insurance faced challenges due to weather and fire events, impacting the third quarter.
