Sanlam and South African National Parks (SanParks) are expanding their SMME Support Programme to include the Garden Route and Addo Elephant National Parks, following a successful pilot at the Kruger National Park. Launched with R10 million in 2023 at the Kruger National Park, the programme has doubled its funding to R20 million, offering interest-free financing to SMMEs within 50 km to boost local entrepreneurship and environmental stewardship. Over the past year, the initiative has approved and funded 35 applications, disbursing close to R8 million, with 61% of beneficiaries being youth and 39% women.
